My original drawing of a classic Downtown Los Angeles storefront in black archival ink on white cardstock is stylized, improvised - but so carefully observed.
I didn't sketch this in pencil first -- I pondered my subject then headed straight for the ink and let the drawing take its course.
This is a beautiful building at the corner of Broadway and 3rd in Downtown Los Angeles. It was once the Mexican Consulate, was once the Pan-American building, was once a five-and-dime, was many times a movie set and soon will be trendy lofts -- so consider investing in this cool depiction of it before it changes identity again.
