Five Boroughs #27
My stylized, stylish and carefully observed sketches of New York City landmarks, printed entirely by hand in water-based colors on recycled cardstock. Such a cool idea for a gift -- personal and one of a kind!
These unusual silkscreen prints remind me of time-lapse photography, where the sky and sea seem to rush past while constructed objects hold still.
I love my obsessive, improvisational printmaking method: I work with acrylic paint instead of ink, applying colors directly to the silkscreen along with additives to create swirly textures. Each one comes out differently and every print is an original piece of art.
This one is #27 from an edition of 60 one-of-a-kind silkscreen monoprints and features deep indigo contrasted against the crisp blue lines of my drawings.
